The Verse
Isaiah 12:2 (KJV)
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.”
Some mornings the fear beats you out of bed.
It’s not always about one specific thing. Sometimes it’s just there — sitting heavily on your mind before your feet even touch the floor. You start thinking about what might happen, what you cannot control, and what you don’t yet have an answer for.
But Isaiah gives us a different way to begin the day.
“I will trust, and not be afraid.”
Notice the order.
Trust first. Fear second.
Fear tells you to look at the problem.
Faith reminds you to look at God.
You may not know what today will bring. You may not have every answer. But you can know the One who holds today in His hands.
God is your salvation.
God is your strength.
God is your song.
So before fear gets the first word this morning, give God the first word.
You don’t have to pretend that everything is easy. You simply choose where you will place your trust.
Today, trust Him before you understand Him. Trust Him before you see the answer. Trust Him before fear tells you otherwise.
A Thought to Carry Today
I may not know what today holds, but I know who holds me.
Prayer
Father, thank You that You are my salvation, my strength, and my song.
When fear tries to take control of my thoughts, help me to turn my eyes back to You. Teach me to trust You before I understand everything and to rest in Your faithfulness when I cannot see the way ahead.
Today, I choose trust over fear.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
All by His Grace. All in His Love. All for His Glory.
